Is this your year for telling stories about what you do?
As we started 2021, I'm sure we all felt like we were letting go of a well-worn jacket - put quickly in the charity bin and never to be seen again (if you're in Melbourne you might need a new one right about now #melbournesummer).
But, alas, the year hasn't started so clean and fresh.
We all wanted to move back to a semi-normal state of working and doing business. Back in the office, events back on, lunch meetings and coffee catch-ups back in the calendar. But, we're not quite there. I'm sure we're all wondering if we will get there and what 'there' will even look like now.
It's abundantly clear that we're going to need to continue adapting to whatever is thrown at us. Which means being uncomfortable for a while longer. Don't you get the greatest growth when being uncomfortable?

So what can you be doing right now?
For starters, it's a great time to look through the eyes of a prospect (or client) and see how your brand looks online. If a new prospect were to stumble across your website, or one of your clients or referral partners were to send them there - what would they find?
Some questions to ask:
- Can they clearly see what you do and the type of clients you work with?
- Do you have a good 'About' page that talks about the team (pics are a great idea)?
- Can they easily book an appointment with your team?
You always need to be conscious of what is an easy next step for the client, so waiting to call you the next day will get quickly forgotten - hook up an appointment software tool today.
Next, are you gathering testimonials from your clients? A lost opportunity to get feedback from your clients (don't wait until they leave you to learn they were unhappy) and to use it to attract new leads. Email is a great way to do it and you can easily build it into your processes, so it's seamless and efficient.
What social content are you creating? There is so better way to tell the story of your business, how you help your clients, the features and benefits of what you do, as well as share your social proof. It's time-consuming yes, but it's also a great way to build that online brand. You're not just presenting a good face to new prospects, you're supporting your referral partners and being front of mind with your existing clients - you need to remind people about what you do.
